“Eddie”

eddie

Your name is Eddie Sisteohen and you crash weddings. Somehow you were able to get yourself photographed and remembered by the mother of the bride. You lived in a photo memory keepsake for years and years and years until, one day, Dolly and Bill looked through it and together couldn’t figure out who you were. You ended up in a flea market, in a box of other photos left to fade away. Then on eBay you surfaced once more. Now you’re on my blog some 66+ years from the day of this wedding. Bravo Eddie. Nicely played.

Eddie’s “time machine” is a Ford Sedan, 1949 or 1950.

Plain ‘ol Ward

1950 ford tudor sedan

Ward Montgomery (not the other way around) drives a 1950 Ford Tudor Sedan. “I could have purchased a nice Packard, or a handsome Mercury, or a sleek Hudson, but I chose the plain old Ford for its… well… plain ‘ol plainness. The seats were plain, the paint was plain, and the tires — they were just plain rubber tires, hell, this plain ‘ol car didn’t even have a plain ‘ol radio. I wanted plain and dammit, plain is what I’ll have.”

Givin me the willies…..

50 buick dog burried

What first caught my eye here was of course the 1950 Buick in a 1966 dated photo print. So the car is 16 years old, which is somewhat rare. Cars, back then, tended to die earlier than do cars of today.  Then I looked at the rest of the photo. This is where things get disturbing. Since when was it ever alright to allow your kids to bury the family dog* in dirt up to its neck? This is why the world is so messed up right now.

*I’m 100% certain it’s NOT the family dog these kids have buried here (it just can’t be), but it does look kinda creepy.

Just back up a bit next time!

mercury and girl

Not entirely certain what was going through the mind of this photo taker. He has centered this pretty lady almost perfectly, yes, but he did so at the expense of the 1950 Mercury she’s leaning on. No regard for sheet metal. Damn shame. If he had just backed up a bit he would have made the entire world perfect for all of us.

Those gutters will have to wait

1950 dodge coronetIt’s Saturday, you’ve got some painting to do (ladder in background) but the new sedan parked in your driveway is almost too much to ignore. So you tell your kids to go inside and get dressed up so they can have the honor of having their photo taken by it.

Okay maybe that’s not exactly what took place here but who cares? You get to see two charming young ladies pictured here and, of course, a fine 1951 Chrysler Windsor Deluxe backdrop.
